A talented outside back hailing from the Riverina region of NSW, Mathew Feagai relocated to Wollongong as a 16-year-old alongside twin brother Max to link up with The Dragons Academy.

He earnt his first taste of junior representative football with Illawarra’s Harold Matthews Cup team before progressing through the pipeline up to SG Ball Cup.

In his second year of SG Ball, he won a Grand Final with Illawarra and was a part of a team consisting of seven future NRL players and a further five NSW Cup players.

Later that year, he was rewarded with selection in NSW’s Under 18s State of Origin team before representing the Australian Schoolboys whilst at Illawarra Sports High School.

Feagai advanced through Jersey Flegg Cup and NSW Cup earning an NRL debut on the wing in Round 9, 2021 against rivals Canterbury at Jubilee Stadium.

With twin brother Max on the other wing, Feagai managed a debut four-pointer in a 32-12 win as the Dragons celebrated the centenary of the St George Dragons in style.

Feagai made his international debut for Samoa at the Rugby League World Cup the following year scoring a try in a win over Greece.

In Round 25, 2023, Feagai appeared in his milestone 50th appearance for the Red V.
