Emre Guler granted immediate release

The St George Illawarra Dragons have agreed to release prop Emre Guler from the remainder of his contract, effective immediately, to take up an early opportunity with Wakefield Trinity.

Guler approached the club for a release to move to the UK Super League early, having already agreed to a three-year term with Wakefield from 2027-29, to which the Dragons agreed.

The 28-year-old joined the Dragons ahead of the 2025 season following seven seasons with the Canberra Raiders, playing 33 of his 126 NRL games at the club.

Dragons Chief Operating Officer Ben Creagh thanked Guler for his contribution to the club, saying Guler departs the Dragons with the club’s best wishes.

“Emre has been a valued member of our playing group and has handled himself professionally throughout his time at the Dragons,” Creagh said.

“We thank Emre for his contribution to the club and wish him and his family all the best for the next chapter.”
