St George went down to Cronulla 20-0 in their clash at Ocean Protect Stadium on Sunday.
It took until early in the second half for either team to crack with Cassie Staples finding a try for the hosts.
Julliana Kolio found their second soon after to make it a double-digit difference before Ella Ropata crossed to make it three tries in 10 minutes for the Sharks.
Despite a late fight, the Sharks sealed it with Nanise Vakacavu going over in the dying stages.

It proved an afternoon to forget for Illawarra who were bested by the Roosters 38-12 on the Central Coast.
Te Raukura Leafe got the hosts on the board in the opening exchanges before the Steelers found a needed answer through Ella Churchill.
A decisive period in which Anastasia Leatupue, Sharni Waters, and Felila Fakalelu nabbed tries however saw the Roosters take a 20-6 edge into the sheds.
The break did little to cool the home side down with Tatum Bird and Waters finding quick tries early in the second stanza.
Rhian Yeo managed to stop the bleeding for the Steelers before Makenna Hammond went over and Waters secured her hat-trick late.
