NSW Women’s Premiership Report: Round 5

The St George Dragons and Illawarra Steelers competed in Round 5 of the 2026 NSW Women’s Premiership season over the weekend.

ST GEORGE DRAGONS

St George went down to the Wests Tigers 30-8 in their clash at St George Venues Jubilee Stadium on Saturday.

The Red V struck first through Jezebel Navusolo before the visitors wrestled back the ascendancy.

Tia-Jordyn Vasilovski got them on the board 17 minutes in before Tyla Amiatu found back-to-back tries to give them a 12-point edge headed into the sheds.

Vasilovski found a second of her own early in the second half before a Sophie Humphries try brought the Dragons back into it.

Their fightback attempt ran out of steam however with Lahnayah Daniel crossing before Vasilovski notched her third of the afternoon to seal the win.

ILLAWARRA STEELERS

The Steelers produced a terrific comeback to take down the Eels 24-22 at WIN Stadium on Sunday.

Parramatta got off to a sizzling start with Jasmin Morrissey scoring two minutes in before Rysh’e Fa'amausili nabbed a quick double and Taneka Todhunter went over to make it 18-0.

Herewaka Pohatu got the Steelers on the board 24 minutes in before Montaya Hudson found another for the hosts.

The Eels found a key try prior to the break with Freedom Crichton Ropati going over to make it 22-10.

A quick Skye Spencer try sparked a Steelers comeback with a late Gwen Swann double sealing a memorable win for the home side.
