NSW Women’s Premiership Report: Round 2

The St George Dragons and Illawarra Steelers faced each other in Round 2 of the 2026 NSW Women’s Premiership season over the weekend.

Illawarra prevailed 40-4 before the squad hung around to watch the club’s NRLW Trial Match against the Wests Tigers.

The Dragons wasted no time bothering the scorers with Jezebel Navusolo crossing in their opening set of the game.

Momentum shifted soon after with Roxy Murdoch crashing over for the Steelers with before Paige Knapp managed two quick tries to give the visitors a double-digit edge headed into the break.

Gwen Swann found another for the Steelers on the other side of the intermission to push them ahead by more than two converted tries.

Knapp’s standout afternoon continued with the Steelers winger bagging two more tries heading into the home stretch.

Kayla Fleming nabbed a try for Illawarra to make it four in the space of 15 minutes before Kiara Kostovski went over late to seal it for the visitors.
