CELEBRATING GRASSROOTS ROUND

In Round 10, the Dragons will be celebrating Grassroots Round as a nod to the boys, girls, parents, volunteers, teachers and officials who dedicate their lives to community rugby league.

Grassroots Round gives us an opportunity to come together and celebrate the lifeblood of the Dragons – our community.

From Arncliffe in the north to Batemans Bay in the south, we celebrate those in the club’s heartland – and beyond – who play a role in making rugby league the greatest game of all and the Dragons the greatest club of all.

As we pave the path for the next generation of Dragons, we also celebrate the current generation with 14 members of the club’s NRL squad and 13 members of the club’s NRLW squad hailing from our own backyard.

THE RETURN OF THE EAGLE

Dylan Egan has been named to make his NRL return a year on from suffering an ACL tear.

It's proven a long journey back for the 21-year-old who made a successful return via Knock-On Effect NSW Cup a fortnight ago scoring two tries in 40 minutes.

In eight games last season, the Gerringong product scored three tries, averaged 68 run metres, and tallied 268 tackles at over 97 per cent efficiency.

Egan: “I can’t wait to go out there and put that jersey on”

PLAYING FOR THE ALEX McKINNON CUP

The Dragons will be looking to retain the Alex McKinnon Cup when they host the Knights this Saturday.

McKinnon was named to the NYC Team of the Year with the Dragons in 2011 having made his NRL debut for the club in Round 14.

He would go on to spend the next three seasons in Newcastle making 46 appearances before suffering a tragic career-ending injury.

The Dragons have won the Alex McKinnon on eight occasions whilst the Knights have taken it out three times.

INTRODUCING OUR NRLW SQUAD

The Dragons' NRLW squad will be introduced to the WIN Stadium crowd pre-game.

The group begins their official preseason next week in preparation for a July season kick-off.

Plenty of familiar faces will be on hand alongside offseason recruits Brooke Anderson, Taliah Fuimaono, Montana Clifford, Lavinia Kitai and Montaya Hudson.

The squad will also be around the precinct for a signing session giving fans an opportunity to mingle with the club's big names.

FUN FOR THE FAMILY

Fans will be allowed on the field post-game as a part of the Grassroots Round fun.

In the precinct, there will be Mother's Day Bracelet Making, Dragons Pass the Ball, the i98FM Street Fleet and and NRLW Signing Session.

Fans will also be treated to the Squadron Energy Junior League Challenge pre-game and the Junior Clubs Relay at half-time.
