Junior Reps Report: Round 8

The St George Dragons competed in Round 8 of the 2026 NSWRL Junior Reps season over the weekend whilst the Illawarra Steelers teams enjoyed byes.

SG BALL

A Cornelius Pupualii double was not enough to propel the Dragons past a fast-starting Manly outfit as they fell 30-18 in Narrabeen.

Manly raced out to a 24-0 lead behind an Oscar Crotty double as well as tries to Beau Alexander and Beau McKee.

Tyrone Moeroa scored off a wild sequence which involved several kicks to stop the bleeding for the Red V.

A Lukas Butler try made life all the more difficult for the Dragons but they persisted with Pupualii nabbing a double to take his tally to five from his past three games.

TARSHA GALE CUP

The Dragons nabbed their first win of the Tarsha Gale Cup season downing the Sea Eagles 32-10 on the Northern Beaches.

The visitors got off to a sizzling start with Morgan Simon, Tahli Curtis, Pypah Ferguson and Millie Cunich all nabbing tries in the opening quarter of the clash to make it 18-0.

Katie Andrews found a try for Manly just shy of the break to cut the deficit back to 14.

Josephine Zapantis nabbed tries in back-to-back sets for the Red V to send them well on their way to a deserved victory before Izabel Williams went over late to seal it.

HAROLD MATTHEWS CUP

A late Manly charge saw them take down the Dragons 24-6 in their Harold Matthews Cup clash on Sunday.

Zac Gedz got the Sea Eagles on the board early before Rokko Walker crafted a timely response for the Red V a quarter of the way in.

Cooper Eveleigh found Manly's second five minutes out from the break to make it 12-6.

The next period proved an arm wrestle before Jayden Richards and Billy Miller found tries in the final stages to seal it for the hosts.

LISA FIAOLA CUP

The Dragons notched their opening win of the 2026 Lisa Fiaola Cup season finishing atop Manly 22-6 in Narrabeen.

A Maude Havea try 14 minutes in proved the only score of the opening stanza as the Dragons took a 6-0 lead into the break.

Lynetah Ioramo found another for the visitors early in the second half before Havea nabbed a second to make it 16-0 entering the final quarter of the clash.

Manly breathed some life back into their chances with 10 minutes to play courtesy of a Ruby King try only for Monique Marshall to slice through in the final minute to ice it for the Red V.
