It proved an afternoon to forget for St George's SG Ball unit falling to Melbourne 44-14 in Mascot.
Melbourne got off to a sizzling start nabbing four tries in the opening 10 minutes – two to Latrelle Cordtz as well as others to Jake Lane and Frank Howarth – before the Dragons crafted a response through Charlie Woolf.
Cordtz made it a first-half hat-trick before Alize Clark went over to make it 28-4 headed into the break.
The first points of the second half belonged to Dragons captain Lorima Saukuru before Melbourne's attack continued on its way with Isaiah Savea and Cruz Dangerfield both snagging tries before Howarth found a second.
Saukuru secured a second late but it proved in vain with the Storm running away 30-point victors.

The Steelers went down to the Roosters 9-8 in a heartbreaker at Collegians on Saturday.
Despite scoring two tries to the Roosters' one, a final-minute Carter Mareko proved the difference as the visitors snuck away with a heart-stopping win.
A 9th-minute Charleston Te Rore try earnt the Roosters a quick lead before a Mareko penalty goal made it 8-0 heading into the half.
The Steelers were able to crack the Roosters' line 52 minutes in with Tyson Walker sending Cooper Morrison over in the left-hand corner with a sweet cut-out ball.
Things got tense entering the home stretch with Leeroy Weatherall and Filipe Fakauho finding themselves in the sin-bin after coming together as both sides were reduced to 12.
With five minutes on the clock, Beau Baldock found a gift four-pointer for the hosts off an awry Roosters pass a meter off their goal-line to tie things at eight-apiece.
With a minute to play however Mareko knocked over a one-pointer to secure the competition points for the Tricolours.

A Morgan Simon double was not enough to push the Dragons past the Storm in their Tarsha Gale Cup showdown with the Red V going down 26-16.
Akeelah Coffin scored for the Storm in the opening stages before Emily Teplicanec answered for the hosts.
Back-to-back tries to Storm No.7 Sierra Teo saw the visitors take a 14-4 edge into the sheds.
The first points of the second stanza belonged to the Dragons thanks to Tahli Curtis before the Storm jumped back out to a steady buffer courtesy of tries to Moonlight Moala and Eboni Heurea.
Simon found her first try with 15 minutes on the clock to spark a Dragons fightback attempt before notching a second soon after.
They ultimately left themselves with too much work to do however as the Storm held on for a key win.

It proved a tough day at the office for Illawarra's Tarsha Gale Cup group as they went down to the Roosters Indigenous Academy 32-0 in Figtree.
The opening stanza proved a tight one with the Roosters managing tries through Jayda Durham and Te Raukura Leafe to take a 10-0 lead into the break.
Mia Vaotuua and Kiri-Kowhai Ned went bang-bang for the visitors early in the second half to grow the lead to an imposing one before Felila Fakalelu secured a late double to seal it.

St George's Harold Matthews Cup squad took down the Storm 16-10 at Mascot to open their account for 2026.
Melbourne took a 6-0 lead into half-time courtesy of an early Devyn Taru try.
A hard-running Jack Lambert got the Red V on the board early in the second period before Melbourne wrestled the lead right back via a Sione Finau try.
Undeterred, Reece Regan's men hit right back with Lambert the beneficiary of a perfect Brodie Dorahy grubber to make it 10-all.
It took a moment of brilliance from Kiwi import Rokko Walker to earn the Dragons their first lead with the No.6 producing a chip-and-chase from inside his own half and hitting a supporting Dorahy up the middle to dive over and seal the win.

The Steelers went down to the Roosters 22-12 in their Harold Matthews Cup showdown at Collegians on Saturday.
The Steelers got off to a hot start with Asher Chapman barging his way over in the early exchanges before Destin Tausala found a try off an attacking scrum to make it 8-0 a quarter of the way in.
A surge prior to the break saw the Roosters earn a double-digit lead however with Caleb Zahra managing two tries along with a Cooper Tesoriero try in the space of seven minutes to give the visitors a double-digit half-time advantage.
Manamoui Toia extended their lead on the other side of the break before Tausala powered his way to the line to stop the bleeding for the home side.
Tausala's second proved the final points of the affair however as the Roosters came away with a big win away from home.

An Ocean Kaiwai-Rangikauhata hat-trick powered Melbourne to a 34-6 Lisa Fiaola Cup win over St George.
Halo Matthews got over for the visitors early before Kaiwai-Rangikauhata nabbed three tries in the space of 13 minutes to break the game wide open.
Caroline Lolohea scored to push the Storm further ahead before Braxton Brown managed a deserved try to get the Dragons on the board.
Makerita Seinafolava and Siulepa Peteru both second half tries for the Storm to seal a handy victory.

Illawarra were bested by the Central Coast Roosters 28-6 in their Lisa Fiaola Cup battle at Collegians on Saturday.
Silia Tuitufu and Sienna Kennedy-Wilkie both snagged early tries for the visitors before Ava Alaban answered for the hosts to bring it back to 8-6.
Kennedy-Wilkie found a second before Talia Berryman scored on the stroke of half-time to make it 18-6.
Kennedy-Wilkie nabbed her third mid-way through the second stanza before Leilani Mareko scored late to ice it for the Roosters.
