The Dragons delivered another Best You Can Be Blitz to a collection of schools across the Central West last week in partnership with Squadron Energy.
Dragons NRLW stars Keele Browne and Ella Koster were on hand for the three-day trip alongside Dragons Community staff.
The crew made stops at Ilford Public School, Kandos Public School, Dunedoo Central School, Mendooran Central School, Gilgandra Public School, Gilgandra Public School, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Gilgandra and St Michaels Catholic Primary, Dunedoo whilst also hosting a touch footy clinic in Dunedoo and a Win The Morning event with the Gilgandra Shire Breakfast Club.
Each stop consisted of a series of interactive workshops for local primary students centred around the club’s health and wellbeing program, ‘The Best You Can Be’.
Now in its eleventh year, the program focuses on helping students make positive choices around health and wellbeing.
The workshops include advice on staying active, learning how to practice tolerance, respect, and inclusiveness, the importance of good sleep, screen time management, hydration, and nutrition as well as the important role we play in taking care of the environment.
“I’ve had the best time coming out here and visiting these kids,” Koster said.
“They have been incredibly welcoming and have had great attitudes throughout it all. I’m proud to be a part of a club involved in these sorts of initiatives and we’re thankful for the role that Squadron has played in helping us come out here.”
