Dragons Seeking Homestay Families for Young Players

The Dragons are currently seeking Homestay families to help accommodate some of our junior players who are relocating from regional NSW and Queensland to join our junior representative programs across both the St George and Illawarra regions.

The Homestay Program has been a valued part of the Dragons’ junior development pathway for several years.

It provides young athletes with a safe, supportive, and family-oriented environment as they pursue their rugby league dreams with the club.

Many of these players have been welcomed by families connected to our local junior league clubs.

When they’re not competing in representative matches, players are also aligned with local junior league clubs during their stay helping strengthen grassroots connections throughout the region.

The costs associated with hosting these players are subsidised by the club.

“The Homestay Program has been an integral part of our junior development system for many years,” Dragons Wellbeing Officer Scott Stewart said.

“It gives young players the opportunity to live in a supportive environment while they train, study, work, and play.”

If you, your family, or someone you know has a spare room and would like to support the next generation of Dragons players, please contact Scott Stewart on 0411 267 571.
