The Dragons are deeply saddened by the passing of long-time clubman Ray Connelly earlier this morning.
Ray made immense contributions to rugby league and the St George District throughout his life.
His dedicated involvement with the St George Dragons began more than four decades ago working as a trainer and strapper after many years of service within the St George Junior Rugby League.
His commitment to the game was recognised through his induction as a Life Member of the St George Rugby League.
Following the establishment of the St George Illawarra Dragons, Ray continued his service as a trainer and gear steward with the team – roles he carried out with professionalism, loyalty, and great pride until his retirement only a few years ago.
Ray will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside him and for his unwavering passion for the Red V.
