Keele Browne nominated for Veronica White Medal

The Dragons are proud to announce that Keele Browne has been nominated for the NRL’s 2025 Veronica White Medal for Woman of the Year in recognition of her diligent work in the community.

The object of the award is to recognise the efforts of a player who has not only excelled on the field but has dedicated time off the field to make a positive difference among communities.

Keele, a local junior from the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs, has shown outstanding commitment to her community in 2025 by dedicating her time to grassroots rugby league, cultural celebration, and vital community causes.

She has been involved in a wide range of community programs and events through the year, including:

  • Tactical Athlete Resilience Program (TARP): Supported Fire & Rescue NSW through the Dragons’ TARP initiative, participating in firefighter fitness and resilience activities to highlight the importance of physical and mental wellbeing for first responders.
  • Best You Can Be Blitz: Visited six schools across NSW’s Central West, delivering messages on resilience, healthy living, and goal setting, alongside rugby league skills sessions.
  • Road to Regions Tour: Returned to her hometown on the South Coast to engage with local schools and her junior club, Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs, inspiring young players to dream big regardless of their background.
  • NAIDOC Week Celebrations: Delivered free rugby league clinics and took part in cultural events across St George, Illawarra, and the South Coast, championing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
  • Pink Walk & Healthy Deadly Kids Program: Raised awareness and funds for the McGrath Foundation while supporting health and wellbeing programs for young people.
  • Tarsha Gale Cup Jersey Presentation: Inspired the next generation of female players by presenting grand final jerseys to Illawarra Steelers juniors.

Alongside her community commitments, Browne was also selected in the NRL’s Academic Team of the Year having completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science at the University of Wollongong demonstrating to aspiring athletes the importance of balancing education and elite sport.

Keele’s passion for giving back, her connection to regional communities, and her dedication to empowering young people embody the spirit of the Veronica White Medal as she continues to prove that her influence reaches far beyond the try-line.

We encourage all Dragons fans to vote for Keele for this year’s Veronica White Medal!
