Dragons sign Tyra Ekepati effective immediately

The Dragons are pleased to announce that Tyra Ekepati has agreed to a deal that will see her join the club effective immediately.

The 18-year-old comes into the club's Top 24 squad for the remainder of the season as well as the 2026 and 2027 seasons having been granted a release from the Roosters.

A Wyong Roos junior, Ekepati has spent the past two Tarsha Gale Cup campaigns with the Roosters and started in the centres in their Grand Final loss back in May.

She followed up a strong Tarsha Gale Cup campaign with selection in NSW's Under 19s Women's State of Origin side scoring a try in the side's 26-10 win on the Sunshine Coast.

Head Coach Nathan Cross is thrilled to be welcoming the highly regarded teenager to the club.

“We’re very excited that Tyra is now a Dragon,” he said.

“She’s an incredible talent and comes to us at a really key time. She’s athletic, she works hard, and she’s a good person which is massive for us. Tyra’s had a big year and was deserving of her NSW Under 19s State of Origin jersey. She has a really promising future ahead of her and I’m glad that it’ll be in the Red V.”
