CC Roosters
Venue: Ziems Park, Wollongong
The Steelers downed the Central Coast Roosters 28-6 in Corrimal on Saturday to remain unbeaten on the year.
Imogen Hei crossed to give the visiting side a lead just 11 minutes in before the Steelers were able to wrestle back a wave of momentum.
Tiarna West was on the end of a fortuitous Maddie Studdon kick to get the Steelers on the board soon after before Leah-Rhys Toka crashed over off some nice Tori Shipton dummy-half work to put the hosts ahead at the half.
Toka nabbed a second on the other side of the break in similar fashion to make it a double-digit Steelers edge.
A long-range Jessica Patea break put the Steelers on the front foot again soon after with some sweet ball movement off the back of it laying on a try for Mackenzie Lear.
Patea snagged a try of her own 52 minutes in off a Tayleah Handcock grubber to seal it for Illawarra.
