Illawarra Steelers teammates Skye Spencer and Halle Barrett were this week selected in the 2025 Australian Schoolgirls squad.
Both earnt their nods off the back of strong campaigns at the ASSRL Championships with NSWCCC in Coffs Harbour.
Spencer – a Holy Spirit College Bellambi product – and Barrett – a Corpus Christi Catholic High School product – are both Illawarra natives and spent the Lisa Fiaola Cup season with the Steelers earlier this year.
Halle follows the footsteps of father Trent who was an Australian Schoolboys representative in 1995 before going on to become a Steelers and Dragons great.
Spencer and Barrett join a host a Steelers in recent years to wear the green and gold of the Australian Schoolgirls including the likes of Indie Bostock, Kasey Reh, Charlotte Basham and Trinity Tauaneai.
