A Kasey Reh try as time expired proved the difference as the Dragons downed the Bulldogs 18-14 in a heart-stopper at Accor Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The clash marked the inaugural meeting between the Dragons and Bulldogs at NRLW level with players from both sides receiving their first taste of what is a storied rugby league rivalry.
The club held a jersey presentation for Nita Maynard-Perrin earlier in the day to celebrate the veteran rake’s milestone 40th NRLW game.
It was the Dragons’ centre-pairing who found themselves at centre-stage in the early goings with Indie Bostock and Keele Browne going bang-bang to earn the visitors a quick, double-digit edge.
The teams could not be separated headed into half-time as the Bulldogs mounted a first-half fightback to lock things up.

An early Raecene McGregor 40/30 put the Dragons on the front foot, and they took full advantage with Teagan Berry sweeping down the right-hand side, holding it up, and moving the ball onto Bostock to dive over virtually untouched.
Raecene McGregor threaded the conversion through the uprights to make it 6-0 the way of the visitors.
Shenai Lendill crafted a grubber and toe-forward the Dragons’ next set to earn her side a repeat set which resulted in their second try of the afternoon.
Browne, who shifted into the centres to cover the loss of Bobbi Law, took in an early cut-out from Kasey Reh and produced a textbook right-hand fend to dive over in the left corner and make it a double-digit game.
The Bulldogs were able to come up with an answer through Monica Tagoai who muscled her way over in the left-hand corner to cut the deficit back to six for the hosts.
Canterbury found a way to go back-to-back through Adi Vani Buleki who took in an Ashleigh Quinlan cut-out to cross again in the left-hand corner to lock things up at 10-apiece.
Zali Hopkins claimed a try for the Dragons shortly after off a deft McGregor grubber but was denied by video officials who ruled that the No.9 was offside by a matter of inches.
Anneka Wilson was placed on report for a dangerous tackle on Ella Koster a half-hour in as the Dragons moved back onto the attack.
Pia Tapsell and Hannah Southwell were both held up over the line within a few plays of one another as the Dragons worked desperately to push ahead prior to the break but were unable to do so.
Ahlivia Ingram went close to scoring for the visitors early in the second stanza, but video officials ruled that she was too held up over the stripe.
A phenomenal, individual effort courtesy of Hannah Southwell in which she pushed away from multiple defenders from 30 metres out and beat the fullback to score which put the Dragons ahead again entering the final 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs managed a quick answer however through Andie Robinson who slipped into space down the left-hand corridor and dove over to lock things up at 14-all.
Maynard-Perrin appealed for a try out of dummy-half for the Dragons with 14 minutes remaining by was denied by video officials who observed a knock-on in their grounding attempt.
The Dragons looked destined to surge ahead with Reh slicing into the backfield from inside her own half and finding Ella Koster who was dragged down as the hosts found a way to hold on.
Taya Preston had a shot at a field goal with four-and-a-half minutes to play but had it ricochet off the right upright and out as the Dragons were gifted a 20-metre restart.
McGregor took a shot of her own the following set, but the attempt fell just short as the scoreline remained 14-all.

An offside penalty gifted the hosts another chance in strong field position but Preston’s second field goal shot went wide.
The Dragons went down the other end and pulled off a brilliant match-winner with Maynard-Perrin darting out of dummy-half and sending Reh through a hole.
Reh burnt the cover defence and dove over just seconds before the full-time hooter sounded to snatch a famous Dragons win.
