The Dragons are excited to announce that Zali Hopkins has agreed to a contract extension with the club.
The deal will see Hopkins remain a Dragon until at least the end of the 2027 season.
A Sutherland Shire native, Hopkins made her NRLW debut for the club at five-eighth in Round 4, 2022 and played a role in the side’s charge towards the postseason that year.
The 23-year-old has gone on to make 19 appearances for the Red V scoring three tries and assisting on seven others.
“I debuted for the Dragons and now I am excited to extend my time here at the club,” Hopkins said.
“I can’t wait for what is to come over the next few years. I am excited for my future here and confident that success is not far away.”
“Zali is a very valuable member of our squad, and we’re pleased to be extending her,” Head Coach Nathan Cross added.
“We’re excited to see what the next few years have in store for Zali. She’s made some big strides as a footballer over the past few years and she’s still young. She’s a really good athlete and she’s grown into a pretty versatile player for us. She had some nice moments last season, so we’re confident that she’ll piece together a big preseason and keep improving this year. She’ll be a really important part of our spine for years to come.”
