The Dragons went down to the Wests Tigers 14-4 at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday.
The hosts got off to a nice start with winger Jessica Whelan finding an early try before a determined arm wrestle ensued.
Wing partner Darcy Eade found another for the Wests Tigers a half-hour in to earn them an 8-0 half-time lead.
Dragons front rower Breanna Wood crashed over on the other side of the half to nab her side's first points of the afternoon and cut the deficit back to four.
Katalina Vave crossed however to seal it for the hosts an hour in as the Red V's fightback came up short.

The Steelers' march towards a Top 2 finish continued on Saturday with Jamie Szczerbanik's squad finishing atop the Rabbitohs 32-6 at Ziems Park.
The hosts could not have asked for a better start to the encounter with Kimberley Hunt and Kaarla Cowan both finding tries in the opening exchanges to push the Steelers out to a double-digit edge.
Jordyn Preston continued her standout campaign powering her way over for another four-pointer a half-hour in as the Steelers took a 16-0 lead into the sheds.
Daisy Gordon got the Rabbitohs on the board on the other side of the break, but their comeback attempt was unable to advance from there.
Shae Muhleisen scored to respond for the Steelers before Tori Shipton found her way over the stripe to extend her side's lead beyond 20.
Indie Bostock stormed over to put a bow on things late as the Steelers secured their fourth win on the trot.
