The Dragons hosted the 11th annual Kids Big Day Out for the club's WIN Stadium double header against the Titans.
The event caters to children with disabilities and their families by providing them with a memorable day out whilst watching the Dragons play.
This year, we welcomed 180 children and families from South Coast Autistics School (ASPECT), Para Meadows School, Peterborough School, St George School, Mater Dei School and Autism Community Network.
The event featured game tickets, face painting, music, plentiful food and drinks, and opportunities to meet Spiderman and NRL and NRLW stars.
"Kids Big Day Out offers families a chance to experience a live NRL match, which they might not otherwise have access to," Dragons Community Manager Adam Bezzina said.
"The event space includes a sensory zone designed to help guests, particularly those with autism, manage sensory sensitivities... We thank The Bevelise Family Trust for their crucial support."
This year’s improvements to the sensory zone reflect feedback from previous years with hopes to expand such features across all venues in the future.
Dragons players Jacob Liddle, Tara McGrath-West, and Keele Browne also participated in rugby league clinics at Peterborough and Para Meadows Special Schools before the event whilst a visit to St George Special School with Hame Sele is also planned.
