A big in for the Red V
Jack de Belin has been named to make his return after a four-week absence in the No. 13 jumper.
His return sees Michael Molo slide back to the interchange and Zane Musgrove drop out of the side.
Last week's debutant Sione Finau is also out after suffering an ankle injury against the Warriors with Mathew Feagai earning a recall on the wing.
Star fullback unavailable for visitors
Kalyn Ponga has been ruled out for the Knights after suffering a shoulder injury in their last-start win over the Sharks.
Lachlan Miller starts at fullback whilst Enari Tuala replaces Dane Gagai in the centres.
Tyson Frizell and Phoenix Crossland are also being rested with Brodie Jones coming into the second row, Fa'amanu Brown starting at hooker, and debutant Riley Jones coming onto the interchange.
Last time they met…
The Dragons last faced the Knights in Round 6, 2022 – over 500 days ago – at WIN Stadium in Wollongong with the hosts running out 21-16 victors.
An early penalty goal got the Red V on the board before hooker Andrew McCullough burrowed his way over for the contest’s opening try.
Newcastle’s Dane Gagai opened the scoring in what would prove to be a back-and-forth second period with Jack Bird and Mathew Feagai crossing within the space of two minutes to answer for the Dragons.
A Kalyn Ponga try tied things up an hour in before the Dragons went ahead with a 78th-minute Zac Lomax one-pointer and finished it off with a second to Feagai late in the piece.
