A wrap up of the Dragons Knock On Effect Cup and Jersey Flegg round 14 games.
Knock On Effect Cup
The Dragons were in the fight for a fair while at BlueBet Stadium but the Panthers pulled away in the second half, eventually sealing a 30-10 win.
The Dragons came agonisingly close to opening the scoring one minute into proceedings but instead Penrith went up 6-0 via a Liam Henry try in the fourth minute.
A lovely angled run from Dylan Egan helped him crash through the Panthers left edge in the 14th minute.
Panthers wingers Tom Jenkins and Jesse McLean scored on either fringe to make it 14-6 after 25 minutes but Sione Finau kept the Red V in touch to make it 14-10 at the break.
Chris Smith extended the home side’s lead early in the second half and Isaiah Iongi crossed from a Soni Luke line break and kick. Jenkin's second try dive minutes from time capped the win.
Jersey Flegg Cup
The Flegg side had a tough outing to kick off Sunday's BlueBet Stadium triple-header, falling to a 22-0 halftime deficit before a late Campbell Watchirs double got the Red V on the board in the second half of an eventual 28-12 loss.
