Dragons pathways: Round 9 wrap

A full wrap of all the Dragons lower grades results from round nine of the Junior Reps season and round five of the Knock on Effect and Jersey Flegg Cups.

Knock on Effect Cup

With their first win of the season within touching distance, the Dragons instead suffered heartbreak as their four-point lead vanished in the final seconds of the match via an Eels try in the far right corner. The try went unconverted to leave Bronx Goodwin's team with a hard-fought draw against the in-form Eels which included tries to Connor Muhleisen, Jaiyden Hunt, Alex Lobb and Sione Finau.

Dragons v Eels Knock On Effect Cup highlights: Round 5

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Dragons went down in a six-tries-to-four loss to the Eels, although some struggles off the tee with no tries converted made the scoreline look worse than it might have. Max Pritchard scored a double while Tom Phillips and Ben Johnson also crossed.

UNE SG Ball Cup

The Dragons scored the final two tries of the match to stage a mini-comeback against the Rabbitohs but couldn't overcome the deficit as they slipped to a 32-24 loss.

The Steelers enjoyed a big win at Cronulla, with Wesley Pring's first-half double the highlight of the 30-8 victory.

Harvey Norman Women's Premiership

It was another tough outing for the HNWP Dragons, going down 24-4 to the Rabbitohs with Kise Ah Fa scoring the side's only try.

The Steelers earned a thrilling win over the Sharks at Collegians on Monday evening, coming from 22-12 down to score the final two tries of the match to steal a 24-22 victory.

UNE Harold Matthews Cup

The Dragons clawed out a hard-fought win at Redfern on Saturday, defending their six point lead through a scoreless final half hour following Bronson Emery's 51st-minute go-ahead try.

The Steelers went down in a low-scoring grind, with goal-kicking proving the difference in the two-tries-apiece loss at Cronulla High School on Saturday.

Harvey Norman Tarsha Gale Cup

It was a tough afternoon at Mascot Oval as the Dragons went down 52-0.

It was a closer affair for the Steelers at Cronulla High School but still no result as the Tarsha Gale side went down 10-4.
