Five reasons to attend Dragons v St Helens

Here are five reasons you should head down to our Pre-season Challenge and first-ever match against St Helens in the Battle of the Red V!

First glimpse of the squad

The St Helens trial marks our first hit out of 2023 and there's plenty to look out for. New recruits Zane Musgrove and Jacob Liddle will get their first chance to wear the Red V plus plenty of promising young guns will be looking to impress. Plus, all your usual favourites will be dusting off the cobwebs after a long and tough pre-season.

It’s a family evening out

Run through the gates at 5.30pm to give yourself time to grab a seat for the NSW Cup trial match (Dragons v Roosters) before the main game kicks off at 8.05pm. Bring the family and make the most of the summer rays before the sun goes down with kids under 15 years free with a paying adult on the hill. Get your tickets here.

Start the weekend with a bang!

Footy and fireworks? That’s right, at halftime we’ll light up the night sky with an awesome fireworks display (subject to weather) to leave the whole family in awe.

Make it an experience

Grab a group of colleagues or mates, and turn it into a full football experience in an Open Air Box. Treat yourself to a private enclosed outdoor box with prime viewing in the Western Concourse and a footy fare menu. Get in touch with our team here.

English big guns

St Helens are coming to Wollongong with the wind in their sails after winning the 2022 Super League Betfred premiership. The visitors are stacked with English internationals like James Roby, Jack Welsby, Joe Batchelor, Morgan Knowles, Matty Lees and Tommy Makinson. Plus, familiar names like Konrad Hurrell, Will Hopoate, Sione Mata'utia, Agnatius Paasi and Curtis Sironen.

The English Saints will be no easy task as they prepare for the World Club Challenge but it's sure to be a great contest and something to remember.
