The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced the recruitment of five talented players ahead of the 2022 NRL Telstra Women's Premiership season.

New South Wales Under 19s Sky Blues centre Andie Robinson and forward Monalisa Soliola, playmaker Zali Hopkins and former Eels prop and St George junior Fatafehi Hanisi will be joined by former NSW Origin and dual international Shontelle Stowers.

Promising Robinson recently scored a hattrick in NSW's victory over Queensland while Shontelle Stowers and Fatafehi Hanisi bring with them NRLW experience.

Emerging forward Soliola will add plenty of size to the pack while Hopkins will have the opportunity to be an understudy for the Dragons' halves Rachael Pearson and Taliah Fuimaono.

The new additions will strengthen all facets of a squad that made the 2021 NRL Women's Premiership grand final, according to coach Jamie Soward.

"There's a good mix of young representative and seasoned NRLW players," Soward said.

"We all saw what Andie can do in the Under-19s NSW side so I'm very happy to have more young outside backs to add to our depth. Monalisa has been on the radar of several clubs so we're glad she chose the Dragons.

"Fatafehi has been part of the Parramatta program and Zali will provide some good depth behind our representative halves.

"Shontelle’s experience playing in the NRLW is important given the young squad we have. She'll show the squad what it takes to be a successful player in this competition."
