All abilities NAIDOC Week clinic announced

The St George Illawarra Dragons, in partnership with The Disability Trust, will be hosting a free rugby league gala day to celebrate NAIDOC week.

As this is an inclusive event everyone is welcomed to attend, particularly First Nations community members with additional support needs. This event will proceed no matter the weather conditions on the day. 

The gala day will encourage and showcase the services and avenues there are to get active in the Dragons' catchment and community.

Dragons Community manager Adam Bezzina said the free rugby league gala day was a very exciting opportunity to combine a number of very important passions of the club.

"This clinic has grown from our relationship with The Disability Trust, in particular the Score Dragons program," Bezzina said.

"We are always looking for new players to get involved in the program. This is also a great opportunity for us to celebrate NAIDOC Week with our community."

The clinic will include skills associated with the game of rugby league in a supportive setting catering for those with additional support.

The clinic will be run by Dragons and NSWRL staff, NRL wheelchair rugby league in addition to celebrating First Nations culture with a Welcome to Country, indigenous games courtesy of New South Wales sport and smoking ceremony.

Date: Tuesday, July 12
Time: 10am-1pm (The Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony will start at 10am so please arrive prior to this)
Venue: Shellharbour City Stadium, Croome Road Sporting Complex, Croome Road, Albion Park, Dharawal Country
Age: 12 -18 years
What to Bring: Sports clothing, joggers, water bottle, hat
