Sims suspended, Vaughan right for Round 2

St George Illawarra duo Paul Vaughan and Tariq Sims have taken the early guilty pleas on their respective grade one dangerous contact – head/neck charges following the Dragons' 10-point loss to the Wests Tigers on Sunday.

Vaughan is free to play the Penrith Panthers at Kogarah's Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Friday night, however Sims won't be afforded the same opportunity following his hit on Tigers playmaker Josh Reynolds.

Sims won't play the Panthers after he received 50 per cent loading for the charge (112 demerit points) as a result of his suspension midway through last season for a similar offence on Cowboys captain Michael Morgan.
