St George Illawarra ambassador and inaugural Women's Premiership back-rower Kezie Apps has been named captain of the New South Wales Women's State of Origin team.

New South Wales will play Queensland at North Sydney Oval on Friday, June 21, with new coach Andrew Patmore naming seven debutants overall.

Inaugural Women's Premiership Dragon and Port Kembla junior Shakiah Tungai has been named for her Origin debut on the wing while fellow Red V teammates Jess Sergis and Holli Wheeler have been included.
