St George Illawarra Dragons winger Jason Nightingale says he is excited to return to training following an extended break after representing New Zealand at the recent Four Nations tournament in the UK.

Nightingale, who spoke highly of his time representing his country, admits he can’t wait to rip in over the next couple of weeks ahead of the upcoming trials and Auckland Nines.

After training by himself in the lead-up to the New Year, the Renown United junior admitted he is relieved to return to the paddock and train alongside his teammates.

“It definitely beats training on my own,” said Nightingale.

“It’s good having someone else to talk to besides the people in my head.

“I’m definitely feeling pretty good and fresh and ready to rip back into optimum fitness.

“I’m really looking forward to the one month’s preparation before we go at it again.

“I think we have made a few good acquisitions over the off-season.

“It seems like there are some good blokes that are really going to do wonders for our group.”
