St George Illawarra Dragons winger Jason Nightingale scored for the Kiwis in their warm-up match against Super League outfit Leeds Rhinos.

New Zealand kicked off their preparations for the forthcoming Test series against England with a 34-16 win over the Super League champions.

Fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck scored two tries in the last 15 minutes at Headingley to give the Kiwis a boost ahead of the three Tests against England next month.

When centre Joel Moon scored the second of his two tries to put Leeds back in front on the hour, an upset looked on the cards.

But New Zealand ran in four tries in the final quarter to finish comfortable winners.

Leeds used the occasion to celebrate the careers of departing stalwarts Kevin Sinfield, Jamie Peacock and Kylie Leuluai.

Leuluai, the only one of the three to play in the game, was denied a fairy-tale try for a forward pass, but Leeds were rewarded for some flowing rugby league with the opening try through Moon.

The Kiwis looked rusty throughout the opening quarter, but they gradually began to find their rhythm and struck with two tries in a five-minute spell just before halftime to go in front.

Jason Nightingale dived over at the corner for an equalising score and Jordan Kahu finished off a break by captain Issac Luke in spectacular style for the Kiwis' second try.

Moon got his second try on 53 minutes, but the lead changed hands for third time on the hour when prop Jesse Bromwich charged over from substitute Kodi Nikorima's flat pass.

Moments later centre Dean Whare finished off a break by Tuivasa-Sheck for the tourists' fourth try.

Tuivasa-Sheck went over for a fifth try on 65 minutes and Nikorima and Tuivasa-Sheck added further tries as the Kiwis dominated the closing stages.
