The St George Illawarra Dragons and The Disability Trust have partnered to create a new inclusive program for people with disabilities to be a part of the local Illawarra Junior Rugby League competition.

The Score Dragons has been a program of The Disability Trust since 2009 enabling participants to learn the skills associated with the game of rugby league.

Up until last year, involvement had been participation at a local footy field in a skills related program.

Now, each Saturday in the Under 13’2 Illawarra South Coast Rugby League competition, the Score Dragons participate in the local competition.

This new opportunity enables the players to transfer their skills into a game setting and play on a weekly basis against their peers in a complete inclusive setting.

Last weekend, at the Novotel in Wollongong, Dragons Community and the Score Dragons were recognised in the Annual Disability Trust’s Awards Night.

All the players enjoyed getting dressed up for the occasion and very proud of their efforts thus far this year.

Well Done from all of us at the Dragons.
