The St George Illawarra Dragons have terminated the contract of Addin Fonua-Blake for breaches of his obligations under his NRL Contract.

Fonua-Blake was involved in an incident on Sunday, January 18 and had been stood down from all Club activities since this time, while receiving counselling support from the Club.

“The decision followed a detailed investigation by the Club and the NRL Integrity Unit as well as a Hearing before the Board of the St George Illawarra Dragons,” said Dragons CEO Peter Doust.

“Addin’s actions breached clauses in his contract and upon review of all information by the Board of the Dragons, the decision was made that termination of his contract was the appropriate outcome.

“This circumstance is unfortunate for both Addin and the Club, Addin has been at our Club for a number of years and was a player our coaching group had targeted for NRL this season."

The Dragons have offered assistance and support from both an education and welfare perspective and will make no further comment on this matter.
