The St George Illawarra Dragons Junior Representative teams will be in action once again on consecutive days this weekend.

The Illawarra Steelers Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18) kick things off when they travel to play the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Remondis Stadium, Cronulla on Friday.

In a change for the team, both age divisions will play in their first night game of the season, something that all players will have to adjust to.

Last weekend the Steelers side travelled to Cessnock to face the Newcastle Knights.

While the Harold Matthews team came away with a 30-16 victory, the SG Ball team fell away into the second half to go down 26-14.

This week’s opponents, the Cronulla Sharks have had very similar seasons in the Harold Matthews competition.

With the Sharks in seventh position, a win for the eighth placed Steelers would see them leapfrog their opponents.

In the SG Ball competition it’s been quite a successful season for Illawarra.

With last weekend being their first loss of the season, they sit entrenched in the top eight with only three rounds remaining.

The Sharks have not been as successful as they have only won one game and sit in 12th position.

The Harold Matthews are first on the field at 6.00pm before the SG Ball side go on at 7.45pm.

The St George Dragons Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18) will host the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah the following day on Saturday.

Both teams will be looking to remedy their respective losses against the Balmain Tigers at Leichhardt Oval last round.

The Harold Matthews are first on the field at 12.00pm before the SG Ball side go on at 1.30pm.
