The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced that both Rulon Nutira and George Rose have agreed to respective one-year contracts that will see them join the Club until at least the end of 2015.

Rulon Nutira, 24, is a prop who this season played for the Gundagai Tigers within the NSW Group Nine competition where he was selected in the division’s ‘Team of the Year’.

The Hornby Panthers junior has previously featured for both the Parramatta Eels (2008-09) and Melbourne Storm (2010) in the National Youth Competition and was selected into the 2014 New Zealand Maori squad.

George Rose, 31, made his debut for the Sydney Roosters during the 2004 campaign before joining the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 2006.

The Bathurst Penguins junior won both a World Club Challenge (2009) and NRL Premiership (2011) during his eight-year tenure with the Sea-Eagles and was named the Club’s ‘Player of the Year’ in 2009.

The four-time Indigenous All-Star prop arrives from the Melbourne Storm having played 142 NRL games to date.

“Rulon boasts a large frame which will compliment that area of the squad and has a real desire to make the most of the opportunity provided to him by the Club,” said McGregor.

“George has been playing NRL for nearly a decade and will provide valuable experience and depth to our forward-pack.

Both players will join new teammate Rory O’Brien who was previously announced as agreeing to terms on a two-and-a-half year contract midway through last season.

The local Hurstville United junior was previously contracted with the Illawarra Cutters as well as part of the Dragons inaugural National Youth Competition team in 2008

O’Brien, 25, was named the 2013 NSW Country Rugby League ‘Player of the Year’ before later being selected in the NSW Country Firsts team that toured South Africa.
