St George Illawarra Dragons halfback Benji Marshall has suffered a syndesmosis injury following the results of scans undertaken on Thursday.

Marshall, 30, Marshall was forced from the field with the injury and was unable to take any further part in the 11-10 extra-time golden-point loss to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Saturday.

The halfback will meet with specialists over the coming days to determine whether surgery is required.
