The St George Illawarra Dragons will return to action when they host the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Monday.

Head Coach Paul McGregor has named an 18-man squad for the home fixture which includes Will Matthews named in the second-row in lieu of the injured Joel Thompson (knee) and prop Rory O’Brien named on an extended five-man interchange.

Additionally, NSW Blues representative duo Josh Dugan and Trent Merrin have both been included pending assessment following their State of Origin commitments on Wednesday.

“The team have returned to training and responded well so far to their initial field work session,” said McGregor.

“We will continue to prepare for what will be a tough encounter and will welcome back both Josh and Trent following their efforts for NSW in the State of Origin later in the week.”
