The St George Illawarra Dragons were proud to have been involved in the 2015 All Stars Indigenous Youth Summit, held in conjunction with the NRL All Stars on the Gold Coast recently.

The Dragons and the NRL believe that encouraging youth to value their education and subsequently aspire to achieve either meaningful employment, training, or further education, whilst embracing their unique culture and identity, is of utmost importance.

A total of 64 young Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and New Zealand Maori students were selected by NRL Clubs to attend the Youth Summit.

The Dragons nominated students Andrea Daniels (Warilla High School), Shannon Kinsela (Dapto High School), Rory Archer (St John the Evangelist, Nowra) and Mozes Olsen (Bombala High School) found the experience extremely rewarding and passed on their gratitude to the Dragons through their mentor Paul Sinclair.

The Youth Summit allowed participants to interact with other young leaders through a series of workshops, activities and discussions.

Participants were also able to continue developing skills which allow them to become strong leaders within their respective communities.
