St George Illawarra Dragons second-rower Ben Creagh was appointed the Club captain for the 2013 season.

He made his 200th first-grade appearance for the Red-and-Whites against the Parramatta Eels during the final competition round last season.

The University of Wollongong junior made his debut for the Dragons against the New Zealand Warriors in round 23 of the 2003 campaign and is a 10-season veteran for the Club.

Creagh made 22-appearances for the Dragons last season and tallied seven tries as well as 519 tackles in the process.

He was rewarded for his fine form last season with selection to all three of New South Wales’ State of Origin fixtures.

The second-rower has represented NSW seven times in total between 2009-12 as well as representing Australia twice.

Creagh has won several pieces of silverware during his service to the Club including a Premiership (2010) as well as a World Club Challenge (2011).

Furthermore, he has been named the Dragons ‘Player of the Year’ thrice in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
