Vaurasi: First Impression Was Enough

Illawarra Cutters prop Everett Vaurasi admits a meeting with Head Coach Paul McGregor was enough for him to pledge allegiance to the Club.
The St Claires Comets junior is one of a number of new faces at the Cutters this season with the hopes of impressing the coaching staff at the upcoming trial fixtures.
In a twist of irony, Vaurasi will be able to prove his worth first-up against his former NSW Cup Club Windsor Wolves when the two teams meet at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour on Saturday.
"I had a meeting set up with Mary and I enjoyed everything he spoke about football and training,” said Vaurasi.
“The sea change is really good for me down here too!
"It's been challenging, and it's made me a better player and hopefully I'll be able to test it out this Saturday.
“I'm looking forward to blowing some cobwebs off after a long pre-season.
"I really enjoy the culture, there's a good synergy with all the boys, everyone's come from different places and different times in their careers.
“We've come together really well so I just hope we can take it forward as the year goes on.
"I'm just trying to adapt to the new style of play, hopefully I can find my spot in the team and be consistent the whole year."
