Illawarra Cutters halfback John Kennedy is hoping to help continue the winning pre-season momentum heading into the trial fixture against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Belmore Oval on Saturday.
Kennedy joined the Cutters in the off-season following a stint with Queensland Super Cup outfit the Redcliffe Dolphins.
The pivot was also involved in the Cutters 24-16 opening trial victory over the Windsor Wolves last weekend and believes the win is not a one-off occurrence.
"Pre-season's been tough compared to Redcliffe, it's different because of the situation with all the players coming back,” said Kennedy.
"The match against Windsor last weekend went pretty well and I can't complain.
“It was great being able to run-out with my new teammates and I hope to get the chance again this weekend.
"Canterbury are a tough team and they're always going to be up there in the season.
“The upcoming game will be a good test to see where we're at before the season starts."
