Cutters NSW Cup Schedule Released

The Illawarra Cutters will commence their second season in the NSW Cup against reigning Premiers the Newtown Jets at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday, March 9.

The Cutters were cruelly knocked out 36-30 by the eventual NSW Cup Premiers in the qualifying-finals round last season and will be aiming for the two-points in the opening round match-up.

The Scarlets then hit the road to tackle the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground the following round.

Both Clubs fought out a thrilling 22-all draw in the corresponding fixture last season.

The Cutters have been allocated one of their three Bye Rounds in third week of the competition before returning to host the North Sydney Bears at WIN Stadium, Wollongong in round 4.

This is followed by five consecutive away matches to face the Windsor Wolves, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Wests Tigers, Wyong Roos and Jets respectively which will test the Cutters resolve early in the season.

The Scarlets will welcome the Wentworthville Magpies upon their return to WIN Stadium, Wollongong in round 9 before hosting the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah the following week.

The Cutters will face the Windsor Wolves at WIN Stadium, Wollongong in round 11 before two away fixtures - a road trip across the ditch to face the Auckland Vulcans in round 12 and subsequently a trip north to the Hunter region to play the Newcastle Knights.

The Scarlets will have home-advantage against the Mt Pritchard Mounties and Roos in the ensuing rounds before taking on the Bears once again in round 16 north of the Harbour Bridge.

The Cutters then host the Sea Eagles at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah in round 17 before welcoming their second Bye Round of the season.

The Cutters return to action away against the Sharks in round 19 before hosting the Vulcans and Bulldogs at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

The Cutters final Bye Round in round 22 will keep them fresh heading into the latter stages of the season.

The Scarlet’s final four games sees them venturing to face the Mounties firstly before returning for their final two home games against the Knights and Tigers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong.

The Cutters' final regular season match is against the Magpies at Ringrose Park.
