Young Dragons fullback Zac Lomax has taken home the Under 18s NSW State Player of the Year award at the Brad Fittler Medal on Monday night.

Lomax - who played in the centres in New South Wales's 35-28 win over Queensland prior to State of Origin II - was chuffed to be honoured with the award.

"I'm pretty happy with the award. The coaches such as Brad Fittler, Danny Buderus and Paul Sironen were very good for the culture in the NSW camp and it brought out the best in us," Lomax said.

Lomax was also confident the young Dragons could go all the way in the Holden Cup this season following their 18-14 win over the Penrith Panthers last weekend at Allianz Stadium.

The young Dragons will play the winner of this weekend's clash between the Sharks and Sea Eagles in the preliminary finals.

"We can go all the way 100 per cent. We have the week off now and being such a young team that will prove valuable," he said. "We have a lot of talent in our team."
