National Reconciliation Week, celebrated between May 27th and June 3rd, celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians.

In 2017, the dates commemorate two significant reconciliation milestones – the 50th anniversary of the successful 1967 Referendum and the 25th anniversary of the High Court Mabo decision.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week this year is 'Let’s take the next steps'.

As part of the Dragons acknowledgement around Indigenous reconciliation, and with the support from Indigenous artist Lani Balzan, we asked those present at the Round 10 clash against the Sharks at UOW Jubilee Oval, Kogarah to be part of our Reconciliation Mural.

This week during National Reconciliation Week, NRL players and participants from our community programs will add their handprint to the mural.

Once complete and framed, the mural will reside in a prominent place that is yet to be decided.
