Illawarra Cutters lock Jacob Host is proud to have been selected for the Grand Final fixture against the Mt Pritchard Mounties at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta on Sunday.

The Cutters enter their inaugural Grand Final bout on the back of a gutsy 18-10 victory over the Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval in their previous Preliminary Final fixture.

Host made 17 carries for a total of 174 metres during the encounter to help his teammates reach the decider which he hopes to emulate once again at the very least come kick-off.

“All the boys really put in and worked hard for one another and in the end it came down to running hard and tackling hard which got us through,” said Host.

“I’m very proud of the team for reaching the Grand Final as we set goals throughout the season and each week we get closer to achieving them.

“If we can make it all the way there’s no doubt it’ll make everyone proud.

“It’ll be a good test for us coming up against the Mounties as they got the better of us in our previous two contests but if we dig deep and put on a performance like we did against the Jets we’re in with a strong chance.”
