Illawarra Cutters winger Tom Carr believes the team need to focus on themselves ahead of their final regular season fixture against the Wyong Roos at Morrie Breen Oval, Gosford on Saturday.

The Cutters were narrowly defeated 19-16 by an energetic and desperate Wentworthville Magpies side last round and will be keen to end their regular competiiton season on a strong note.

Carr, a local Helensburgh Tigers junior, believes the team need to turn up with a greater energy and get back to what has worked for the them in recent times, expresseing that grabbing the two competition
points would be advantageous heading into the Finals Series.

“The focus needs to be about us playing our own game against the Roos,” said Carr.

“It was a tough game against Wentworthville on the weekend, and they bought a lot of energy which I believe we lacked.

“We need to stick to our sets and the points will come.

“Momentum is huge this time of year, and if we can put together a good performance and come away with a win, it will put us in a good position heading into the finals."
