St George Illawarra Dragons prop Mose Masoe is quietly optimistic about potentially donning the Red V livery before the end of the season.

The Toa Samoa international has reached the five-month mark in his rehabilitation having torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his right knee during the pre-season.

Masoe, who joined the red-and-whites during the off-season, has recently commenced his running component of his recovery program having previously been confined to basic gym work.

The forward has heaped praise on fellow props Leeson Ah Mau and Russell Packer and would no doubt like to link-up with them on the field sooner rather than later.

“It’s coming along alright and I am nearing the five month mark now having started my rehabilitation running recently,” said Masoe.

“Once you start running you know you’re not too far away and being able to be around that atmosphere is exciting.

“I am presently training between five to six days a week working on my cardio as well as my running now and it’s been tough but definitely worth it.

“It’s been pleasing to watch both Russell and Leeson go so well this season and hopefully they continue doing just that.

“Hopefully I might get the chance to be involved in that but if not then definitely next year.

“As a squad I think we’re starting to really gel and I have seen everyone start to click as the season has progressed.

“It’s pleasing as everyone seems to be getting along and it is starting to show in our results.”
