The St George Illawarra Dragons completed trials for their respective Illawarra Steelers Junior Representative teams at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour on Saturday.

Many players invited from various respected clubs attended the trials in the hope of showcasing their talent for the board of selectors present on the day.

Two teams will be chosen from the candidates to create the respective Harold Matthews Cup (U16) and SG Ball Cup (U18) teams for the coming season.

Over the course of the event, six teams were created from the trialists of each age group and were given equal and interrupted time to display their talent in hope of securing their place in the team.

The enthusiasm and determination displayed by each player was outstanding, making the decisions for the selectors very difficult over the next couple of weeks, when the train-on squads for both age groups will be announced.

All trialists will be notified within a fortnight of their success, or otherwise, for inclusion in their respective train-on squad.
