St George Illawarra Dragons five-eighth Gareth Widdop has been ruled-out from the upcoming fixture against Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Saturday.

The England international suffered a cork injury to the thigh during the previous fixture against the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium, Robina last round.

The player completed his training commitments earlier in the week before suffering bleeding as a result of the ailment.

Widdop will continue his rehabilitation under the observation of the Dragons Medical Staff.

Dragons Head Coach Paul McGregor has named Drew Hutchison as replacement five-eighth with the player poised to make his third NRL appearance to date.

The local Albion Park Oat Flatts junior made his first-grade debut for the Dragons in their local derby fixture against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Remondis Stadium, Cronulla in Round 18.

Hutchison, 20, was earlier this season named in both the respective Junior Kangaroos and NSW U20 representative teams.
