St George Illawarra Dragons lock Trent Merrin has taken the early guilty please after being charged with a Grade 2 "Dangerous Throw" offence by the NRL Match Review Committee on Wednesday.

The NSW Blues representative was placed on report while representing his state for the incident against Queensland Maroons lock Corey Parker during the third State of Origin fixture at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Wednesday.

Merrin will be loaded 433 points (365 points from this charge + 68 carry-over points to be added) if he takes the early plea or 555 points (487 points from this charge + 68 carry-over points to be added) if found guilty.

The Shellharbour Sharks junior is suspended for four weeks and will be available for the Round 22 fixture against the New Zealand Warriors at Westpac Stadium, Wellington
