St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team winger Tom Carr has backed the team’s attacking prowess leading into the match against the North Queensland Cowboys at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.

The local Helensburgh Tigers junior notched both tries for the Young Dragons in the 18-8 loss to the Parramatta Eels last round but is confident that the team can continue to create attacking opportunities where and when it matters.

“We defended very well against the Eels despite some of the calls not going our way and some of the passes simply not sticking as they usually do,” said Carr.

“It was good though to get two tries in the game but that comes down to teamwork and working to this systems we’re comfortable with.

“We need to continue working on some of our attacking plays though as our defence has been better in recent weeks.

“We need to remain patient with our passes and stick to what we know we are capable of.

“The Cowboys will prove tough opposition this week and hopefully everything will come together.”
