St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team hooker Josh Daley admits the team needs to improve their attacking prowess ahead of the match against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Saturday.

The Young Dragons have had a topsy-turvy campaign to date being downed in several tight encounters in their recent ventures on the field, most recently against the Brisbane Broncos.

The Wests Illawarra junior though believes that the losses do not reflect the work rate of the team’s defence but notes the focus needs to now be directed on creating more attacking options.

“It was just really quick out there against the Broncos and both teams played with a lot of intensity in both attack and defence.

“Unfortunately we just weren’t able to come up with the points but we’ll take the lessons learnt from that into the match against the Roosters this weekend.

“Despite the loss our defensive structures were sound which is one positive, especially our middle.

“Having said that, I do think our attack needs to improve a little bit more as we’ve let ourselves down in those key moments.

“We have had a strong week in training and hopefully we can apply the lessons learnt against the Roosters.”
